We spent the last three days, parting and island hopping in Boracay, Philippines. Boracay may be described as an “Asian Malia” hosting funky bars and clubs, with countless happy hours and Brits on tour of some fun and sun. Not to mention, a stunning white beach. On our first night, we were swallowed by the Boracay nightlife, made friends and partied with rum until the wee hours. Feeling rather sorry for ourselves the next day, we decided to chill out at Spider Beach Bar. Perched on a cliff, through a cave like hole overlooking the serene Diliwig Beach. We enjoyed a day of fabulous food and drink, tuna sashimi and a view of white sand and clear waters. We walked the length of Boracays main “white beach” and watched as the sun disappeared and left in the sky a powerful red glow.
Island Hopping- we hired a wooden boat, and travelled to many of the surrounding islands. Including the CRYSTAL CAVE island. We first waded through tit-hight waters and then reached the cave, which we literally crawled through in the dark! (claustrophobic and creepy) Before being born into a world of sparkling blue waters. We then checked out a near by deserted beach and met some friendly chicks and their mama.
Boracay is a western holiday destination with McDonalds and ladyboys, beach clubs and pubs, cocktails and shops. You can get your hair braided and grab a henna tattoo. Although the beach there is outstanding, it was a shock to our system coming from such rural and remote places on the map!by
