We reluctantly left our wonderful home stay, we had only booked 5 days and by the time we’d realized it was the best around they were fully booked! After visiting 15 or so home stays, some with green pools with fish and flowers growing inside! We moved to the Frangipani home stay, amongst rice fields (complete with ducks, duck-hearders and rice pickers and a waterfall) it seems much more rural than our first choice. The owners are friendly and helpful, we have hot water, the place is clean enough but we have a lot of gecko visitors and no air con or pool! After moving out and moving in we headed to the YogaBarn for a fast flowing afternoon Yoga class and ended up walking home, with a million insects and monkeys up a steep uneven hill in the dark! scary!
So today we decided to spend the day in PARADISE. We got a driver to take us the 40 mins to Ubud Hanging Gardens hotel to use the pool. Which was BREATHTAKING, wonderful views of the jungle! Unfortunately the second pool is under renovation and the one pool in use is therefore only for guests staying at the resort, but we easily found a hotel near by with equally spectacular views. After a trip in a rickety hydraulic lift, we spent our time there swimming and then took the 250 steps down to the river!
Great chilled day enjoying new, quieter villages and astonishing pools!by
